The Atlanta Hawks were a team on the rise for the past three to four years, however it seemed like the mass public did not take notice until this year. What’s not to like about the young Hawks? They’re fast, energenic, athletic, and very entertaining to watch. Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Mike Bibby, and Al Horford are all great players to watch, however this year has belonged to Sixth Man shoe-in Jamal Crawford. Needless to say, it’s a great year to be an Atlanta Hawks fan.

The new Air Jordan 16.5 – Black/Varsity Maize/Red is a great tribute to the Hawks. While Jordan is not billing it as an “Atlanta Hawks” sneaker, the presentation and design would say otherwise. Check out the lone photo Sneaker Demon has of the Air Jordan 16.5 – Black/Varsity Maize/Red.

A few Hawks players have been seen wearing a similar pair, as has Dwyane Wade. The Air Jordan 16.5 – Black/Varsity Maize/Red is very similiar to the player exclusives, however it favors yellow contrast stitching and black nubuck upper.
